Puppies with Flowers

This trend is something I can get behind 110%. Seriously, if I was having a Royal Wedding, pups would be the only people in the wedding. Besides me and the king, of course!

Marble Decor

Not only is marble aesthetically pleasing, it is aso going to be very popular among weddings in 2018. Marble invitations, decor, and place settings will be all the rage.

Sweetheart Tables

What is more romantic than sitting with your honey, eating a delicious meal that cost $20 a person, and watching your guests swoon over your beautiful day? Sitting together with no distractions from others. Yes, celebrating with your loved ones is so important, but in 2018 couples will want to have time to enjoy their wedding together. Not just in a dance or photo, but during their reception as well.

Ditching the Dinner

Millennial couples are spending more money on experiences and less on traditions. In 2018, cut back on your expensive meals or wedding cake. Instead, sub in appetizer trays, themed food bars, and dessert bars. Think cupcake towers and donut walls.

Colored Dresses

Many brides are taking the white out of their dresses. Blush, blue, and champagne colored gowns will be the center of many weddings.

No Wedding Party

Similar to ditching dinners, many couples will be celebrating their union with small wedding parties or none at all. Intimate weddings days are more wanted than ever in 2018.

Hello my lovely friends!!! In case you haven’t seen on my Instagram (and if you aren’t following me, click here to do so!), Jake and I finally received our entire gallery from our engagement shoot. Andrea Godfrey Photography (AGP) did such an incredible job. Those pictures will be down below!

5 tips to finding the perfect wedding photographer weddingwire

Wedding photos are such a personal, life long treasure, so finding someone who will capture your precious moments in such a classic, yet unique way is a little hard. I looked for so long before Jake and I were lucky enough to land on Andrea. Here are a few tips on how we found someone who captured us beautifully:

First off, thank you to WeddingWire for sponsoring this post. For real though, I used WeddingWire when hunting for photographers, venues, caterers and more. They have a nifty search bar that will show you vendors and REAL reviews. Those true comments are things you really want to read in depth.

Jake and I were wanting a whimsical, timeless style that still had a flair that you didn’t see everywhere. Some of my friends like the airy, bright look. Definitely look for a photographer who has a portfolio with a style you like. Make sure to tell them what shoots of theirs you really like.

For me, wedding photos were not something I was going to settle on. One day I may have Dementia and won’t remember my wedding day, but I will have photos to show how in love Jake and I were on that day. For this reason, I knew I was going to have to settle on my dress, venue, flowers, or caterer. I was okay with that, though, because the day is about Jake and me, not all the fancy fluffers.

With Andrea, we had the engagement shoot included in the wedding price. For me, this was incredible because we now get pictures for Save The Date’s and other things. I looked at other photographers that were double to triple Andrea’s price and didn’t include anything besides 6 hours of wedding photography. With AGP, we really got bang for our buck.

Definitely find out if you have to print through your photographer or if you get a release to print anywhere. If you have to order through your photographer, include that in your budget when evaluating the photog.

Hi, friends!!! In case you forgot (which I’m sure you didn’t because I talk about it ALL the time), I GOT ENGAGED! We have picked the venue, dress, and photographer. Now, it is time to pick the maids! To do this, I paired up with Advil® to bring my girls a necessity for all of the headaches they will sure to be getting during this process. Here is how I created a super simple, yet cute, bridesmaid box for my girls!

To start with, I went to Michael’s to get the boxes. It was so hard to find cute boxes for this. I did not want to paint a box or do a lot of work to the actual box, so I was on a mission. I eventually found the cutests black and white boxes! I also bought some pink ribbon to attach to the top of the box.

After hot gluing a must needed ribbon on, I moved onto the details. I added some white confetti stuffing to the bottom of the box. Next up, I designed some pretty cards for the box. I knew I wanted a gorgeous card that was still simple. For the bridesmaid box, I wanted to ask them to be their specific part, and have a card for their role! My friends are amazing, so I wanted the process to seem just as great.

My sister is still super young, so I asked her to be my Junior Maid of Honor! That way, she still gets MOH duties, but will have some help, too.diy bridesmaid box

Next, I wanted to give the girls something to help with the anticipated stress and headaches that will come from the wedding planning, bridesmaid dress shopping, and whatnot. I decided the Advil® Liqui-Gels® minis 160ct were perfect for that! Fast, powerful pain relief now in a smaller, easier to swallow size and are 33% smaller! It is perfect for pain relief. Check out this product on Target.com! Also, from10/29-11/18 get 5% off through Cartwheel.

After the Advil® packets, I filled each box with goodies each girl would like. Now, it is time to ask them and hope they want to be in the wedding on our special day! PS. We have changed the wedding date, so it is going to be earlier than September 15!
