Hey, guys! I hope your week is off to a great start. If not, I hope this fun tutorial will make your Monday better. SOOO many of you have said, “How do you make stickers?”, “Is it possible to make stickers without Word?”, “Is there an affordable way to design stickers?” Yasssssss. There is. It’s super easy to make some basic stickers.

To design my stickers, I hop onto my HP Pavilion x360 Convertible 15 inch laptop. It’s available at Walmart and they are all brand new. It’s the bomb because it rotates from being a laptop to being like a tablet. It makes sticker making, playing the Sims, and working on homework super easy and convenient. I am able to shift between four modes to make being closer to my computer for an amazing entertainment experience. Not even joking, I can take this laptop anywhere and play the Sims and still have amazing sound quality and battery life. It’s the bomb dot com, girl.

I first download the free Silhouette software. You can get it from their website. You also don’t need a Silhouette to design on there. It’s much easier to use to design than using Word, and the software works incredibly on my new Pavilion laptop! After the software is downloaded, open it and create a new sheet.

First you are going to select the square tool on the left sidebar.

Next, draw a rectangle to your planners proportions. I did mine for my Erin Condren Life Planner which is 1.5 inches wide by 1.9 inches tall.

I then dragged a pretty background into the rectangle and duplicated the box as many times as I felt like.

Next, I wanted to make some page flags to mark my studies. To do this I drew a 1.5 inch wide by .3 in tall rectangle.

Next, I choose the “edit points” tool on the sidebar. I then drag the middle of the short side of the box to create a page flag.

Next, I use the typing tool to write in my needs for this years semester. Back to school can be stressful, but these stickers really help keep my life together.

Lastly, I duplicated these a ton and then added some more words, quotes, etc., to create a fun spread I would like.

I print and cut these on my machine, but you can easily cut by hand. It’s nice because these are so easy to make on my laptop since the software runs flawlessly on a new computer.

This is how I will use these stickers throughout the school year. It will make keeping up with a hectic semester super easy!

How gorgeous are these stickers?! AND, I have a free download for them here. School Freebie >>> PLEASE subscribe, or share after downloading these. A nice little thank you for a freebie.

Thanks so much for your post! I’ve been looking for a post like this. But I do still have a lot of questions. First off, when you say “dragged” a pretty background from somewhere, where exactly did you have it? Also, do you know anything about the Silhouette mobile app?

    • August 16, 2016 / 7:02 pm

I dragged it from the desktop! And I do not but if you have any specific questions I can try to play around and figure it out <3

Thank you so much for your post!!!! I recently began designing my own stickers and I was looking for a “beginners” software that would allow me to have some fun with it before possibly buying a more advanced one 🙂

    • January 3, 2017 / 11:23 pm

How did it work out for you?!

  5. February 27, 2017 / 2:59 pm

I am not able to locate the “free Silhouette” software, would you happen to have a link? I would be very happy if you did 🙂
    Thank you,
