When I planned this outfit it didn’t appear to me that it was basically all black. But often I go to black because it is such an effortless way to look stylish (not to mention it is slimming). Johnny Cash is one of my favorite country singers and when people talk about how all black isn’t a good look, I just remember that if Johnny could rock it, so can I. I wore a crop top from Apricot Lane, skirt from Target, and shoes from Maurices.
I also wore a lipstick from Covergirl. It was number 880 from their vivids collection and it was called Electric Orange. It doesn’t look as orange on my lips as it does in the tube, but it did a great job of staying on. I love CoverGirl lipsticks from their Color Sensational line because there are so many colors to pick from and they last for a while. It also makes it a lot easier to try out more bold colors, like this orange or a purple, because they are only about six or seven dollars.
I paired my dark outfit with these colorful earrings to bring a little bit of summer into this look. I don’t remember where I got them but they have similar pairs in tons of stores right now. Bright, dangle earrings are some of my favorites because it can make any outfit look more pulled together. I also had my hair braided back on the side to show off the earrings and also get some of my hair out of my face on such a hot day.
I love the zipper detail of this crop top. To me it makes it much for chic and fashionable. This outfit is perfect for a night out or a dinner date. If you want to make it more modest, pairing the skirt with black sandals and a tank top tucked into the skirt would do just that! You could also add a necklace that hangs lower to add more style to the look.
Here is my favorite picture that we took this day. I am constantly making weird faces and throwing up random hand gestures. It’s great to be yourself even if it is for something that is going on the Internet. As long as you stay true to yourself, everything that is meant to be will happen.
